Writing a Critical BOOK Review

Critical book reviews often contain four important pieces of information:

1.  Introduction:   Include author, title, and a brief description of the type of story.  Introduce your main characters with a few descriptive words.

2.  Brief summary of the bookProvide a summary of the key points with a few examples to illustrate

3.  Critique of the book:    Include strengths, weaknesses and unique features of book or story.  You could also support your evaluation with other sources.  Be sure to give credit to your sources.

4.  Brief Conclusionrestate you overall opinion, with possible recommendations or explanations of your opinion
